Northern Connections Ltd. is an authorized Toshiba and Yeastar telephone dealer. Today, our company is the largest telecom inter-connector in North Eastern Ontario. Our company has the unique ability to offer customized solutions as authorized dealers for two of the world’s largest telecom manufacturers.
Northern Connections was presented with the Samurai award which recognizes the top four Toshiba dealers in Canada for 1998 & 2000.
Data
Northern Connections Ltd. is an authorized Panduit dealer. Our staff is certified by Panduit and therefore, our company can offer Twenty year manufacturer warranties on our installations. As an authorized dealer, our company has full access to the technical and design support staff of
Panduit Canada.
Northern Connections Ltd. is one of the largest local area network providers in North Eastern Ontario. Our company installed the largest local area network in this region at the Ontario Government Complex located at South Porcupine, Ontario. The project involved the
provisioning of 1560 Category 5 Data drops, 10 fiber optic cables (12 strand multi-mode) and 4400 pair of copper distribution. Recently, our company completed the local area network for College Boreal in Timmins. The project required the provisioning of 360 Category 5 data drops plus all the voice and video cabling.
We also were awarded the TeleTech Timmins Call Centre project where we installed over 3000 Category 5 Data & Voice drops, Cabinets & Associated equipment.
Northern Connections Ltd. provided the fiber Wide Area Network for the City of Timmins linking four sites with the ADC fiber electronics and six kilometers of single mode fiber optics.
Our company also installed 31 3COM manageable hubs for the Timmins R.C.S.S. to network the schools in Timmins.
In 2001 we were successful in winning the contract for the installation of over 3000 data drops for the TeleTech Call center in Timmins.
Public Address
Northern Connections Ltd has installed and maintained public address systems ranging from small paging Valcom system to true public address systems such as Rauland, Dukane, StarCall and Carehawk system. We have systems currently installed in all four school boards servicing Northern Ontario as well as schools as far north as Attawapiskat.
Video Surveillance
Northern Connections Ltd. is one of the largest video surveillance installers in the North. Our company has installed and personally maintains several video surveillance systems located in all of Northern Ontario. Our client list includes City of Timmins, Timmins Police Services, Northeastern Catholic School Board, District des Grandes Rivieres, District School Board One Northeast , Primero Mining Corp, Porcupine Gold Mines and Timmins Garage Ltd.

Gerry Dorion was born and raised in Timmins, Ontario. He attended Theriault Secondary School in Timmins and attained an Electronic Engineering diploma at Algonquin College in Ottawa. Gerry joined Northern Telephone Ltd in Timmins in 1972 as a technician. Gerry held several management positions with Northern Telephone Ltd. during his twenty-two year career.
As the Central Office and Data Support Manager, Gerry supervised the installation of the cellular network and supplied the technical support to the operations staff.
In 1995, Gerry resigned his position at Northern Telephone to become a co-owner of Northern Connections Ltd. Gerry continues to live in Timmins with his wife Diane and three children. He is actively involved in technical committees working to improve the communication
infrastructure in our area.
RICHARD WARRINER SALES MANAGER NORTHERN
CONNECTIONS LTD.
Richard was born and raised in Timmins. Richard came over from Timmins Stationery where he worked as the manager of telecommunications. While working in that capacity he helped to
establish the Nortel Mobility network the first of its kind in our area, he also helped in the administration and the sales side for Northern Connections Ltd. In November of 1998 Richard became the Sales Manager for Northern Connections. As a Sales Manager Richard has helped to make Northern Connections one of the top four Toshiba dealers in Canada.

Gerry was born and raised in Kapuskasing, Ontario, he worked at Northern Telephone Ltd in Kapuskasing as a central office technician until leaving them to join Northern Connections Ltd in Gerry supervises a staff a three technicians who work to support our clientele in the Kapuskasing & Hearst area.

Christine Dorion was born and raised in Timmins, Ontario. She Studied at Laurentian University in Sudbury. Christine started her career as a 911 Operator at Timmins Police Service. Christine joined Northern Connections Ltd in 2002 as a technician and after a short period she was put in a supervisory position.. As the primary customer contact person Christine has an integral part in growing our company.
Steven Blackwell INSTALLER NORTHERN CONNECTIONS LTD.
Steven Blackwell was born and raised in Timmins, Ontario. Steven graduated from Ecole
Secondaire Theriault in 1988 and joined Northern Connections that same year. Steven has been installing and maintaining / servicing our customers for nearly 20 years now and is knowledgeable on several communication platforms as well Steven is a certified cable and fiber
technician.

Claude Richard was born and raised in La Sarre, Quebec. He Studied Electronics at Algonquin College in Ottawa. Claude joined Northern Telephone Ltd in 1972 as a technician and worked
there for 25 years. In 2005, Claude resigned his position at Northern Telephone to become a owner of CDR Consulting a partner company with Northern Connections Ltd. Claude continues to live in Timmins with his wife Diane and two children.
